Meisner: Expanding the Work with Terry Knickerbocker This four-day workshop builds on Terry’s Vancouver Intro to Meisner workshops, giving returning actors an opportunity to deepen their craft through truthful listening, spontaneous response and authentic connection. The Intro workshop explored approximately the first four weeks of Meisner training. This next step moves beyond repetition into expanding and deepening the activity, and also into emotional preparation. Terry is approaching the workshop as an exploratory progression that could take participants into material introduced around week 20 of the curriculum. Working with fellow actors, you’ll explore how purposeful activity, imagination and emotional preparation support a more truthful, responsive presence in your acting. There will be room for curiosity, experimentation and discovery as you build on the foundations established in the Intro workshop. You’ll be paired with another actor from the workshop and expected to work together in person for approximately 30 minutes between in class.
