the approach
Big performance is built on tiny truths.

The depth of truth you uncover in the story, the character, and yourself defines what your performance can become.

In this weekend intensive, you’ll deepen your understanding of the given circumstance and reveal how you personally connect with it, arriving at simple, truthful doing. This is the core of your most masterful work, now and throughout your life as an actor. It is vast, and the exploration never ends.

Scene study is not linear, it’s reciprocal. As your understanding of the character deepens, so does your awareness of yourself, and vice versa. That awareness yields not only deeper, more impactful performance, but also becomes the actor’s process for perennial growth, both as an artist and as a human being.

This exchange shapes the work in front of you and continually expands your range and depth. Once in place, it becomes the process an actor lives in, an ongoing engine for growth and exploration.

You’ll be paired with another actor and assigned a scene by Jeb, from a contemporary play or screenplay designed to challenge and expand you both. You are expected to arrive off book, rehearsed, and ready to work.

Over the course of two days, alongside scene work, Jeb will guide Meisner-inspired focus sessions. Through a series of group and partner exercises, you’ll practice cultivating presence and refining your process to access the truth of the story, the moment, and what you bring to it.

You’ll uncover the tiny truths within the story and within yourself, shaping a performance that is both deeply truthful and powerfully effective in its telling.

"We're not here to prove any teacher's ideas; we're here to discover what works best for you. as long as it helps you and infringes on nobody, then it's on the table. My role is to provide you with the tools and teach you how to make informed decisions about what to use."
